About The Position

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. The incumbent's duties will entail to serve as a civil engineer performing scientific and professional engineering work. Duties Responsible for the overall coordination and execution of assigned projects. Oversee project milestones and budgets from planning through construction and initial operations. Develop and review plans, scopes, designs, cost estimates, field investigations, reports, project folders, justifications and inspections concerning project manager duties. Perform scientific and professional engineering work. Interpret engineering standards and criteria, originality and sound judgment in analyzing and recommending solutions to problems.

Requirements

  • US Citizens
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering accredited by ABET, or a degree with specific coursework in engineering science and physics.
  • Alternatively, a combination of education and experience including thorough knowledge of physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a good understanding of engineering sciences and techniques.
  • This can be demonstrated by professional registration/licensure (EI, EIT, PE), passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, or completing at least 60 semester hours of qualifying coursework.
  • A curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field with at least 1 year of professional engineering experience under supervision may be accepted.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical input on the real property planning, design, construction or maintenance of projects.
  • Preparing plans, cost estimates and time estimates for repairs/engineering projects.
  • Reviewing engineering designs of maintenance and repair.
  • No substitution of education for experience is permitted for this position.
