About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their Aviation Civil Engineering team in Tampa and West Palm Beach, Florida. This role is crucial in shaping the future of airport infrastructure through the planning, design, and delivery of complex airfield and landside improvement projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of aviation professionals focused on creating innovative, resilient, and sustainable solutions for airports of all sizes, including major commercial hubs and military installations. The position involves developing airfield and landside planning and design for airport improvement projects, contributing to iconic aviation projects with a history spanning decades. AECOM is a recognized leader in airfield design, offering involvement in projects across Florida and the US.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have a valid U.S driver’s license.
  • As a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior related intern and/or professional experience.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D Design.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing civil airfield, design, and construction improvements working under experienced design staff.
  • Preparation of design plans, construction estimates, technical specifications, engineer's reports, meeting agendas/minutes, and other various tasks related to supporting our client's needs.
  • Regular contact with clients, design team members, contractors, and sub-consultants for ongoing planning, design, and construction projects.
  • Participation in project meetings with internal team and clients.
  • Interaction with all project stakeholders (including federal and state agencies).
  • Development and/or review of project documents and general support of project team/tasks.
  • Support project managers with design documentation and construction-related services.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
