About The Position
Seeking a motivated Civil Staff Engineer for a premier engineering firm in Charleston, WV. This "Earn While You Learn" role is designed for entry-level professionals eager to gain hands-on experience in Land Development and Transportation Project Planning. You will receive direct mentorship while contributing to high-impact infrastructure projects across the region.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering (or Mechanical) from an ABET-accredited program.
- 0–3 years in a professional engineering environment (Internships count!).
- Willing to participate in periodic day travel for site inspections and client meetings.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Green Card work permit.
Nice To Haves
- EI/EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification is preferred but not required at the time of hire.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and testing of engineering solutions for site layouts and transportation systems.
- Collaborate with Senior Project Managers on planning, scheduling, and execution phases.
- Draft technical reports, environmental impact summaries, and permit applications.
- Conduct site research and analytical studies to overcome geographic and structural challenges.
- Ensure all designs meet local, state, and federal safety and quality regulations.
