About The Position

We are looking for a Civil Engineer with a diverse background in infrastructure and/or oil and gas to join our group in Calgary. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the team and plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of civil projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Alberta
10+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure and/or oil and gas
Strong project management, technical and analytical skills
Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals
Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; able to mentor and work with junior engineers and designers
Good organization skills and strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

A strong background in water resources is an asset
Experience in materials testing (soils, concrete) and/or structural design and analysis is an asset

Responsibilities

Perform civil design for a variety of projects such as site development, grading plans, earthworks, drainage, roads and underground design
A strong background in water resources is an asset
Provide technical guidance to a team of EITs and designers to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications
Carry out estimates of project costs, analysis and calculations, design review, preparation of reports and contract documentation
Interface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations
Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards
Assist in creating a work plan that includes a schedule, milestones, control, and risk factors
Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues as they arise
