We are looking for a Civil Engineer with a background in Transportation (roads, geometrics) to join our Kelowna Team. As the successful candidate, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of civil projects. We are open candidates in Kamloops or Vancouver as well.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of British Columbia
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in municipal engineering and project management
  • Strong project management, technical and analytical skills
  • Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals
  • Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; able to mentor and work with junior engineers and designers
  • Good organization skills and strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of transportation projects including design and construction of transportation infrastructure
  • Provide technical guidance to a team of EITs and designers to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications
  • Carry out estimates of project costs, analysis and calculations, design review, preparation of reports, proposals, and contract documentation
  • Build business relationships with current and potential clients
  • Interface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations
  • Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards
  • Create a work plan that includes a schedule, milestones, control, and risk factors
  • Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues as they arise
