About The Position
A multi-discipline consulting firm is seeking a Project Civil Engineer for their growing team in Suffern, New York!
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related discipline
- 5+ years of experience
- Site development/municipal engineering project design experience
- Thorough understanding of the entitlement processes on Long Island
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related technical areas
- Familiar with the design of public infrastructure/public bidding process
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, Autoturn, Excel, and Photoshop

- PE preferred
Responsibilities
- Design/coordinate work on multidiscipline projects
- Due diligence/site feasibility studies
- Site engineering through regulatory approvals and full permitting
- Develop site layout/design (site grading and storm drainage, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure, erosion and sediment control)
- Use knowledge of NYSDEC stormwater management and SWPPP requirements to prepare hydrology and hydraulic calculations
- Perform project administration (writing reports, gathering information, writing proposals & correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports)
- Prepare engineer's opinion of probable costs for designed projects and specifications for public bids
- Coordinate tasks with other engineering and architectural departments within the firm
- Communicate directly with clients
- Ensure a high-quality, on-time, on budget, technical delivery of all project requirements
