About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support engineering and project execution activities for one of our clients across Newfoundland and Labrador. In this role, you will perform all aspects of project design from the conceptual stage and prefeasibility studies through to final design. The successful candidate will prepare budget estimates, work orders, material and equipment orders and contract documents. They will also review and support the development of capital budget applications, while coordinating with a multi-discipline team to perform estimates and develop the technical justification for proposed work for regulated infrastructure. This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an anticipated start date of July 27, 2026, and an end date of July 23, 2027. Work will be primarily based in St. John's, NL, with periodic travel to project sites throughout the province as required. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil) and registration with PEGNL as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Willingness to travel approximately 4-6 weeks a year
  • Proven and demonstrated communication skills
  • Ability to thrive as a participant within a multi-discipline team of both internal and external resources
  • Relevant experience in design, implementation and troubleshooting
  • Experience in developing and managing engineering consultant contracts
  • Experience in developing and managing construction contracts
  • Experience in engineering project estimates
  • Valid Canadian driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract required
  • Criminal record check required

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of project design from the conceptual stage and prefeasibility studies through to final design.
  • Prepare budget estimates, work orders, material and equipment orders and contract documents.
  • Evaluation and recommendation for contract awards and performance of construction management duties for assigned projects.
  • Review and support the development of capital budget applications, while coordinating with a multi-discipline team to perform estimates and develop the technical justification for proposed work for regulated infrastructure.
  • Travel to project sites to provide technical and field support as required
