About The Position

ARCO/Murray is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join their team in the Austin market. This role is crucial to the design/build process, involving site due diligence, designing and drafting land development concept plans, and guiding clients through the initial stages of their building projects. The position allows for solving big-picture challenges while delegating detailed tasks.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or other Engineering or Design discipline.
  • 2-8 years' of land planning experience in Austin.
  • Ability to perform stormwater detention analysis and site utility design calculations independently.
  • Ability to read and understand local zoning codes, stormwater management codes, FEMA floodmaps, FWS wetland maps, record civil and survey drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCad Civil 3D experience creating AutoCAD Civil 3D templates and styles is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required. ARCO/Murray will support the pursuit of licensure for EIT and offer a $5,000 bonus for successful competition of PE license.

Responsibilities

  • Research and collect site-specific information to initiate the land development process and perform site investigative due diligence.
  • Design and draft multi-building land development concept plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D for commercial and industrial uses.
  • Prepare schematic site plan, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site developability based on learned constraints.
  • Perform stormwater detention analysis, site utility design, and earthwork analysis to best inform site planning effort for cost and constructability.
  • Meet with internal and external customers to review concept plans, discuss advantages to multiple approaches, and work to define direction of project with Design/Build contracting team.
