About The Position

CDM Smith is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Team! In this role, you will develop basic-complexity engineering designs for a variety of water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects under direct supervision.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
0 years of professional experience (entry-level position)
Basic knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) 3D and 4D software and practices
Basic knowledge of engineering principles of design
Knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

Developing site layouts and grading plans, drainage designs, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution and collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, stormwater infrastructure and treatment systems, and occasional single-story structures.
Reviewing designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while ensuring firm policies and engineering practices are followed.
Performing site reviews and studies to evaluate project conditions and update design requirements as needed.
Preparing technical documentation and contributing to the firm's knowledge-sharing efforts, including white papers and documentation for new or specialized designs and studies.
Supporting the development of technical papers, presentations, and conference materials to share project work and technical expertise.
Performs other duties as required.
