Our talented staff of more than 650+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions. Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Civil Engineer to assist with our projects in Columbus, OH! This role focuses on commercial site development while offering exposure to a wide range of public and private projects including industrial, residential, energy, and water/wastewater developments throughout the Midwest.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
• EI certification required, with ability to obtain PE or PLA within 6–12 months
• Practical experience in site development design and plan preparation
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, pipe networks, and plan set development
• Experience applying municipal, county, and state design standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable coordinating with reviewing agencies, municipalities, and internal project teams

Nice To Haves

• Experience preparing Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports strongly preferred
• Roadway design and survey experience a plus
• Utility design or utility field inspection experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Support licensed engineers in the design and preparation of commercial and site development projects
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction document packages
• Develop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and early-stage planning documents
• Perform stormwater modeling, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, and drainage design
• Prepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for commercial and mixed-use developments
• Coordinate with internal MSG teams including Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction Services
• Apply agency standards and design criteria to support permitting and project approvals
• Engage with reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approvals
• Support projects from conceptual design through construction documentation
