As a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in our Las Cruces Water Resources Group, you will leverage your engineering expertise to develop and manage water and wastewater utility infrastructure projects from an initial vision to completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • PE license in New Mexico.
  • Four (4) or more years of proven experience in water/wastewater engineering, to include one (1) year of project management.
  • Experience with the development of water and wastewater type projects including items such as the following: wastewater collection systems, lift stations, water reclamation facilities, reclaimed water distribution; as well as drinking water production wells, drinking water treatment, water distribution/transmission pipeline networks, and storage.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor/train staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in consulting engineering.
  • Experience with managing multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

  • Working with clients to understand infrastructure needs, assist in capital improvements planning and develop funding strategies.
  • Complete asset management plans, preliminary engineering reports, and master plans to characterize the practical engineering approach and best available technologies to apply for successful client solutions.
  • Lead or participate in a project design team to develop construction drawings and technical specifications for various types of utility infrastructure projects.
  • Manage construction administration services, including in-house construction observers, from the initial bidding phase through final commissioning.
  • Coordinate asset on-boarding and GIS systems updates for individual client CMMS integration.
