We’re looking for a skilled Traffic Project Manager to join our growing transportation team in the Twin Cities. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation/traffic engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Minnesota (or capable of getting reciprocity within first six months of employment).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering, with exposure to project management and client-facing work
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to support projects or team needs
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Traffic analysis and modeling tools such as HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, SIDRA, or similar
  • Traffic signal design, operations, and timing/phasing
  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design
  • Traffic impact analyses, operational analyses, and corridor or intersection modeling
  • Multimodal planning involving pedestrians, bicycles, or transit
  • Work zone traffic control and transportation management plans
  • Safety data evaluation and countermeasure development
  • CAD platforms including AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Specialty credentials such as PTOE or RSP

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage traffic engineering and transportation projects—keeping scope, schedule, budget, and quality on track
  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact for public agencies including MnDOT, counties, and municipalities
  • Perform traffic engineering tasks as needed to support project delivery
  • Prepare and negotiate contract documents
  • Collaborate with project teams across disciplines and office locations
  • Support and mentor less-experienced traffic engineering staff
  • Contribute to proposals and marketing pursuits for transportation projects
  • Participate in professional organizations at the local, state, or national level
  • Provide input to leadership on business planning, workload, and resource needs
  • Focus on project delivery and client relationship management, with growing involvement in business development as you build your presence in the market
