About The Position

A multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a Project Civil Engineer - Site Design to join their Phoenix team. This role involves preparing planning and design documents, performing calculations, cost estimates, and economic analyses. The engineer will also assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and coordinate with other Olsson teams. Responsibilities include directing team members on design tasks, maintaining project records, coordinating with clients, attending client meetings, and assisting with marketing and business development. The role may involve serving as a project manager on smaller projects and performing individual assignments on complex ones, as well as mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
5+ years of related civil engineering experience
PE License
Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals, etc.
Working knowledge of Civil 3D
Successful applicants must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Prepare planning/design documents in appropriate engineering discipline
Perform process design calculations, prepare cost estimates, and use economic analyses for comparison of alternatives
Assist/develop project scope of work, project schedules, completion of initiation paperwork, budget reviews, and schedule progress reports
Coordinates projects with other Olsson teams
Perform/coordinate design aspects of projects
Direct team members on design tasks
Maintains project records (correspondence, drawings, and files)
Keep project managers updated on progress and problems
Coordinate with clients
Attends client meetings
Assist with marketing/business development including writing proposals
May serve as project manager on small projects
Perform individual assignments on complex projects
Mentor/train junior staff
