About The Position

Sambatek, LLC is a professional services firm that specializes in civil engineering, planning, surveying, and environmental services. We serve public and private clients throughout the country with office locations in Minnesota and North Carolina. We embrace challenging projects and work hard to help our clients find success. Summary Sambatek is currently seeking a Project Engineer to work with a team to execute transportation engineering projects. As a project engineer, this individual will be responsible for the design and development of project documents. You'll work on a variety of signature transportation projects across the state of Minnesota. Anticipated work types may include corridor studies, preliminary designs, final designs, specifications, engineer's estimates, and more. We offer specialized knowledge and creativity to city, county, and state clients, working together to find optimal solutions for ethical, sustainable, and appropriately-sized projects. Our goal is to maximize the impact of tax dollars invested in these initiatives. Work Location: Hybrid, flexible work options Expected Compensation Range: $40.50-62.50 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications) Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4-10 years of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering
  • Proficient in basic elements of highway design, preferably with some advanced design experience
  • Strong self-motivation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks on multiple projects with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to mentor entry-level staff or interns with day-to-day tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer and corridor modeling preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design phase or plan development phase
  • Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes
  • Participate in quality review processes
  • Perform proficient CAD drafting in Open Roads Designer
  • Design and lead production of tasks/subtasks for a task lead/project manager as part of a collaborative team
