About The Position

Sambatek, LLC is a professional services firm that specializes in civil engineering, planning, surveying, and environmental services. Sambatek is looking for an entry-level Project Engineer to join our transportation team. In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced engineers to support a variety of transportation projects for county and state clients. You’ll help prepare project documents, learn industry standards and processes, and build your skills while contributing to meaningful work. We know the first few years of your career are about learning and growing, so you’ll have the chance to take on different tasks, ask questions, and get feedback in a supportive team environment. Over time, you’ll gain independence, efficiency, and confidence in tackling a wider range of assignments. Strong communication and teamwork will be key to your success here. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks on a project with strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer preferred
  • 3D corridor modeling experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design phase or plan development phase
  • Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes
  • Participate in quality review processes
  • Perform CAD drafting in OpenRoads Designer
  • Perform subtasks for a task lead or project manager as part of a collaborative team
  • Spend time in the field, in addition to the office, to perform construction inspection, material testing, and see transportation project sites to grow as a designer
