About The Position

Your impact starts here – Within the Renewable Energy team, you will participate in the design, coordination, and execution of major projects in the wind, solar, and battery energy storage (BESS) sectors. You will contribute to the development of essential civil infrastructure for strategic energy transition projects. As a Civil Engineer in Renewable Energy, you will play a key role in optimizing site layouts, designing access infrastructure, water management, earthworks, construction support, and multidisciplinary coordination. You will also contribute to identifying high-performing technical solutions that minimize construction costs, reduce environmental impacts, and promote project efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) (mandatory).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the design and execution of civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in the design of access roads, earthworks, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, and water management.
  • Experience in site supervision and construction support.
  • Proficiency in cut and fill optimization principles and constructability.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other civil design software.
  • Excellent multidisciplinary coordination skills.
  • Excellent command of French, both oral and written.
  • Bilingualism is necessary, as the individual will frequently be involved in projects for English-speaking clients and partners based outside of Quebec.
  • Valid driver's license (Class 5).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, or BESS) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements applicable to infrastructure projects is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Define the technical needs of projects and develop solutions adapted to technical, environmental, regulatory, and economic constraints.
  • Present engineering concepts, study results, and recommendations to clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Design the civil infrastructure associated with wind, solar, and BESS projects.
  • Design temporary and permanent access routes necessary for the construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities.
  • Plan and optimize access routes to facilitate equipment transport while minimizing construction costs and environmental impacts.
  • Optimize site layouts and earthworks to reduce cut and fill volumes in wind, solar, and BESS projects.
  • Participate in the planning and layout of equipment to maximize constructability and efficiency of civil works.
  • Coordinate site development with multidisciplinary teams to optimize land use, soil movements, and execution costs.
  • Conduct hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, and stormwater management studies.
  • Design ditches, culverts, retention basins, erosion control structures, and other water management infrastructure.
  • Evaluate risks related to runoff, erosion, and surface water management, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Produce, verify, and approve calls for tenders, quotes, plans, technical reports, studies, calculations, and other engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure design compliance with standards, client requirements, and municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Perform site visits, technical inspections, and field surveys.
  • Provide technical follow-up of civil works and support construction teams in resolving field issues.
  • Supervise and support the work of technicians, designers, and drafters by acting as a technical reference.
  • Participate in coordination with geotechnical, environmental, electrical, and construction disciplines.
  • Integrate environmental requirements, permits, and authorization conditions into concepts and execution strategies.
  • Apply and promote the company's quality, health and safety, and risk management processes.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, technical standards, and methodologies in civil engineering applied to renewable energy.
