About The Position

Morrison-Maierle is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead municipal infrastructure projects focused on water, wastewater, utility—including piping, pumping, collection, distribution, storage, roadway, site development, and construction administration in our local community. The Project Manager will lead the design and delivery of critical municipal infrastructure that protects public health, supports sustainable growth, and strengthens the resilience of the communities we serve. This role oversees the full project lifecycle—from planning, permitting, and funding support to design, bidding, and construction administration—ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and practical, buildable solutions. You will work closely with clients to define scope, proactively resolve issues, and provide clear, consistent communication throughout each phase of delivery. Project work includes the design of roadways, site development, piping, storage, distribution, and municipal water systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction engineering or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
  • 5+ years of progressive civil engineering design and construction
  • 5+ municipal water infrastructure project experience preferred
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation required
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or able to pursue after-hire
  • Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and working with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time, within budget, and with strong quality outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and team coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound engineering judgment, and ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Client‑service mindset and ability to build, maintain, and grow long-term client relationships.
  • Interest in practice development, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable record for periodic travel

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, for project coordination, building strong relationships, providing responsive and proactive client service, and ensuring alignment between project objectives and deliverables.
  • Prepare and lead client meetings and technical presentations
  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders, including permitting agencies, regulatory agencies, funders, utilities, government bodies, and impacted members of the public.
  • Analyze infrastructure system deficiencies regarding compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. Provide improvement alternatives to meet compliance with such regulations.
  • Produce planning documents and cost estimates for needed improvements.
  • Prepares plans, specifications, costs, and estimates for municipal and industrial projects.
  • Manage full project lifecycle: scope development, budgeting, scheduling, resourcing, risk identification, and change management.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and timely project delivery.
  • Lead bidding and construction-phase services, including bidding assistance, submittal reviews, field observations, payment recommendations, RFIs, and change orders as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, progress tracking, and financial performance reporting.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and performance feedback to EIs and project team members.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and support staff development through coaching, training, and design reviews.
  • Adhere to and champion company QA/QC standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality across project deliverables.
  • Identify new opportunities, support client account growth, and help develop strategic pursuits.
  • Lead or contribute to proposal development, including project approach, scopes, schedules, level of effort, and interview participation.
  • Leverage engineering design software to perform engineering calculations and modeling, as well as to produce project designs according to project specifications.
