About The Position

Woolpert is hiring a Project Manager to join our dynamic Transportation Team at our Houston or Dallas office. This position reports to the Transportation Practice Leader and is responsible for assisting current project managers in the execution of their current projects, developing relationships with our current clients, positioning themselves to manage future projects. Project Manager will lead the overall execution of the project while also serving as a technical lead on a portion of the project. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Active PE License in Texas or ability to obtain an Texas PE license within one year of hire.
  • 5-15 years of experience in transportation design (strong preference for roadway experience).
  • Must be able to travel 5-10% to client sites.
  • Bentley Open Road Designer or Civil3D experience.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of TxDOT Project Development Process, construction documentation & administration and knowledge in state, local municipalities design process is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams through the development of preliminary engineering, detailed design, and quantification of transportation projects.
  • Lead design or help design complex roadway and transportation projects that require creative solutions.
  • Perform engineering design tasks such as highway and street design, roadway alignments, roundabout design, roadway grading and modeling, curb ramp design, signing and pavement plan, maintenance of traffic, storm drainage.
  • Perform designs using software including MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD, and/or Civil 3D.
  • Respond to requests for proposals by leading the development of the proposal submission as well as preparing scope, schedule and budget of projects.
  • Ensure deliverables and quality standards are met in accordance with the agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage and support internal and client cross-functional teams.
  • Leverage existing relationships and new client and consultant relationships in the pursuit of new work.
  • Actively participate in professional societies, organizations, and conferences by serving on boards, presenting at luncheons or conferences.
