Civil Engineer (PE) – Civil/Aviation Dallas Fort Worth
About The Position
Geometrics Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Civil Engineer (PE) to join our Civil and Aviation Practice. This position is based in our Dallas (Plano), Texas office and follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of working in-office a minimum of three (3) days per week to support team collaboration and project delivery. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional who can seamlessly integrate into existing project teams and contribute immediately to ongoing Delivery Orders across multiple airport, infrastructure and private programs. The position is best suited for someone who takes ownership, leads by example, and works collaboratively to foster a positive and respectful team environment. The position requires an individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, supporting both design and construction-related efforts while coordinating closely with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering (MS preferred)
- Professional Engineering (PE) License required
- 7–12 years of experience in civil engineering design
- Strong experience with Civil 3D, ACC, and/or Geopak (or equivalent platforms)
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment based out of the Dallas (Plano) office, with a minimum of three (3) days per week in-office
- Collaborative team player with the ability to integrate into existing teams and lead effectively
- Professional, respectful, and able to work productively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Willingness to travel occasionally for field visits, client meetings, and project coordination
Nice To Haves
- Experience in aviation, transportation, or large infrastructure projects preferred; familiarity with FAA standards is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform civil design for aviation and infrastructure projects including grading, drainage, pavement, and utility design.
- Work independently and collaboratively within existing project teams to support active Delivery Orders.
- Utilize Autodesk platforms (Civil 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud) and/or Bentley platforms (MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak) for design development and collaboration.
- Provide leadership within project teams by mentoring junior staff, proactively solving problems, and contributing to a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, and program controls teams to align design with schedule and budget.
- Develop and review design drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Participate in constructability reviews and provide input during construction phases.
- Interface with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies as required.
- Support preparation of technical reports, design memoranda, and construction documents.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, local agency, and client-specific standards.
