Tindall Corporation, a leading Precast Concrete Manufacturer in the Southeastern U.S., is seeking a Civil Engineer, PE. The company's mission is to support customers, create remarkable structures, and deliver innovative solutions. This role involves managing the design and engineering of projects, providing engineering interface across company functions, and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

  • Registration as a PE is required.
  • Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the precast concrete, concrete construction, civil construction, or related construction industry is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • A structural focus is preferred for the Bachelor's degree.
  • Direct precast or concrete industry experience is highly desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the design and engineering of projects and providing engineering interface for these projects with all other functional areas of the company while mentoring less experienced associates.
  • Following all Safety and Quality rules and processes.
  • Interfacing with sales, estimating, project management, and operations, as well as the customer (general contractor and architect/engineer) to accomplish engineering package generation, submittal, and approval.
  • Supplying the plant with details and information for fabrication and the erector with plans and information for construction, and resolving any questions, conflicts, or issues.
  • Generating designs and drawings for the precast concrete system from construction documents (architectural and structural drawings and specifications), or from conceptual information only.
  • Managing the design and drafting of several projects concurrently, using internal or outside resources.
  • Performing self-directed design or leading the more complex portions of design if junior engineers are involved.
  • Providing sales support as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
  • Performing field observations on projects, including writing Observation Reports and developing/tracking field repairs.
  • Potentially leading two to four designers and one or two entry-level engineers on a project-by-project basis.
  • Checking the work of EITs and Associate Engineers on a project-by-project basis.
