Requirements

• Registration as a PE is required.
• Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Structural focus preferred for Bachelor's degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in the precast concrete, concrete construction, civil construction, or related construction industry preferred.
• Direct precast or concrete industry experience is highly desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and engineering of projects and provide engineering interface with all other functional areas of the company.
• Mentor less experienced associates.
• Follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes.
• Interface with sales, estimating, project management, operations, and customers (general contractor and architect/engineer) for engineering package generation, submittal, and approval.
• Provide plant with details and information for fabrication and erector with plans and information for construction.
• Resolve any questions, conflicts, or issues related to fabrication and construction.
• Generate designs and drawings for the precast concrete system from construction documents (architectural and structural drawings and specifications).
• Design projects from conceptual information only, if required.
• Manage the design and drafting of multiple projects concurrently, using internal or external resources.
• Self-perform design or the more complex portion of the design if junior engineers are involved.
• Provide sales support as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
• Perform field observations on projects, including writing Observation Reports and developing/tracking field repairs.
• Lead two to four designers and one or two entry-level engineers on a project-by-project basis.
• Check the work of EIT and Associate engineers on a project-by-project basis.
