Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
  • Design of paving, grading, drainage, and utility systems for multi-family, commercial, and industrial site development.
  • At least 4 years of experience performing the responsibilities listed above.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with clients, staff, municipal authorities, vendors, and contractors.
  • Ability to attend City Council and client meetings as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience producing plans and managing the following tasks:
  • Entitlements, including platting, zoning, and municipal permitting
  • Site planning and development master planning
  • Grading and drainage design
  • Street and alley design
  • Site design
  • Water and wastewater design
  • Hydrology and hydraulics analysis and design
  • General civil design
  • Construction management
  • Software proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS
  • SWP3 preparation and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineers and technicians.
  • Provide technical oversight and design expertise for pavement, utilities, grading, site improvements, and drainage.
  • Build and manage client relationships while ensuring responsiveness and sound financial performance.
  • Maintain knowledge of local zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, and applicable design standards.
  • Coordinate and manage in-house and external surveying support.
  • Participate in the community and pursue leadership roles in civic, technical, and professional organizations.
  • Prepare proposals, define scopes and fees, and track project performance.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with City departments.
  • Deliver presentations at hearings, Commission meetings, and City Council meetings.
