This position supports project teams on civil engineering and related technical assignments, primarily focused on design for power generation, mining, and industrial site development, including design of buried utilities, with opportunities to support other sectors as needed. Responsibilities include project planning and management; civil design and analysis; CADD modeling; preparation of construction plans, specifications, and spreadsheets; and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Additional duties may involve site grading and layout, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, report writing and large report support, construction cost estimating, construction management and observation, and facility inspections. A successful person in this role will have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. They must possess a flexible working style and be willing to occasionally modify their schedule to meet deadlines and/or client needs. They must be able to work cooperatively in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative and demonstrate effective project organization and management skills. Hybrid or remote: this position can be based out of Barr's Ann Arbor, Michigan, or Salt Lake City, Utah, offices. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered, allowing time split between the office and a home office. Work environment: ability to work in locations that feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites. Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites.
