About The Position

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a creative, team-oriented, and motivated Land Development Engineer to join our growing Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida offices. They will be responsible for mentoring staff, preparing engineering design calculations and construction plans to directly support residential, commercial, and municipal projects, including site grading, stormwater, utility design, and details and preparation, write drainage and utility reports. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work and interface well in a collaborative and detail-oriented project team environment.

Requirements

B.S. or M.S. Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
6+ Years of Experience
Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and good interpersonal skills
Ability to work and interface well in a collaborative and detail-oriented project team environment.

Responsibilities

Mentoring staff
Preparing engineering design calculations and construction plans to directly support residential, commercial, and municipal projects, including site grading, stormwater, utility design, and details and preparation
Write drainage and utility reports
Manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Florida land development permitting experience
Assisting with proposal and report generation
Ability to cultivate new client relationships
Designs a complete project, system, component, or process.
Prepares complete plans, specifications, and other project documents.
Designs and conducts analyses and interprets test data.
Begins to develop and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
Assigns tasks to other technical and non-technical staff.
Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.
Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or projects.
Mentors junior staff by providing guidance, explaining professional responsibilities, and reviewing work products.
Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
Communicates effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
