Civil Engineer – Land Development (Residential & Commercial)
About The Position
See projects move from sketches and site visits to permits, construction, and ribbon cuttings—often within your first year. At Landform, you'll do more than support projects. You'll help shape the places where people live, work, shop, and connect. You'll work alongside civil engineers, planners, land surveyors, landscape architects, and development professionals in a collaborative studio environment where learning happens across disciplines—not just within one studio. Simply put, you'll help design projects that actually get built—not just drawings that sit on a screen. We're looking for an on-site Civil Engineer (EIT or 2-5 years of experience), based in the Minneapolis, MN area, with an education from an Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET)- accredited program who wants hands-on experience, meaningful responsibility, and an accelerated path toward becoming a well-rounded engineering professional. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 2-5 years of experience
- Basic understanding of site design, grading, stormwater, and construction documentation
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Strong interest in land development, site design, or civil infrastructure
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Civil 3D preferred
- Exposure to residential and commercial site design or land development projects
Responsibilities
- Support Residential and commercial land development projects from concept through construction
- Assist in preparing site plans, grading plans, utility plans, drainage plans, erosion control plans, and construction documentation
- Perform grading design, stormwater calculations, utility coordination, and site development engineering tasks
- Contribute to plan production using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, contractors, and internal project teams
- Participate in site investigations, zoning research, utility coordination, and project meetings
- Take on increasing ownership of project components as your experience grows
