Civil Engineer - Land Development Forensic Investigator
About The Position
As a Civil Engineer – Land Development Forensic Expert, you will investigate civil engineering – land development incidents. You will analyze procedures, applying your comprehensive knowledge of standards and practices. You will write clear, scientifically sound reports and provide expert testimony. You will delve into the "why" behind incidents, critically assessing decision-making, operational procedures, and the standard of care. This role offers you a chance to use your cumulative clinical training, experience, and critical thinking skills, collaborate with highly respected experts, continuously learn and grow, and make a tangible difference.
Requirements
- Active P.E. license.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in land development and/or extensive site/civil/heavy construction project management.
- Broad experience with safety requirements and issues on construction sites.
- Design experience and a thorough working knowledge of contracts, safety, construction means & methods, scheduling, estimating, subcontractor management, & quality control.
- Excellent technical and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to safely climb/navigate ladders, roofs, scaffolding, etc. for inspection activities.
- Clean background screen.
- Driver's license.
- Ability to drive.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in community development or residential land development is preferred.
- Experience in commercial land development, commercial construction, single-family home construction, commercial recreational construction, and/or heavy construction is a plus.
- Prior forensic experience is not required. We seek professionals eager to apply their deep industry knowledge to a challenging new domain.
