Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the applicable provincial engineering association, or working toward professional designation;
  • Knowledge of municipal infrastructure design principles and engineering practices;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, integrity, and a strong work ethic;
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment;
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, with the ability to travel to project sites as required.

Nice To Haves

  • A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered;
  • Previous experience with municipal engineering design or site inspection is considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) is considered an asset;

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the conceptual and detailed design of municipal infrastructure projects, including transportation, water, wastewater, and land development works;
  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, contract documents, and technical reports;
  • Support the development of proposals, cost estimates, project reports, and change orders;
  • Assist in reviewing project scope, identifying required modifications, and implementing design solutions;
  • Conduct site visits and construction inspections for municipal, transportation, and private sector projects;
  • Monitor construction activities and document progress, observations, and deficiencies;
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project delivery;
  • Maintain accurate project records and provide clear, concise reporting to supervisors and project teams;
  • Contribute innovative ideas and continuous improvement initiatives to support project success;
  • Execute work in accordance with company standards, applicable regulations, and industry best practices;
  • Promote and apply Englobe's health and safety policies, procedures, and culture in all aspects of work.
