About The Position

EXP is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) / Project Coordinator for their Brampton office. This role is ideal for someone progressing toward a Project Engineer position. The team works in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, suited for proactive individuals eager to contribute their civil engineering and project management knowledge. The candidate will develop their ability to manage client relationships, bring civil design expertise, and be motivated to build on their success. In this role, you will work closely with senior staff in our head office in Brampton.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in engineering
  • EIT designation, C.E.T., or working toward P.Eng. licensure in Ontario
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of water/wastewater treatment design and practices
  • Experience in design of treatment systems and pumping stations
  • Strong technical report writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience preparing construction specifications
  • Experience supporting proposals and presentations for water/wastewater projects

  • Civil 3D is an asset
  • Master Format is an asset
  • Hands-on experience in design, commissioning, or troubleshooting is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Work on water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Central Canada.
  • Support delivery of medium to large-scale projects, including treatment plants and pumping stations—from studies and conceptual design through construction and close-out.
  • Collaborate within a dedicated team that values quality and on-time delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with internal disciplines including architectural, structural, electrical, and I&C as part of EXP’s full-service delivery model.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, field staff, and inspectors.
  • Coordinate permits and approvals with municipal, provincial (Ontario), and federal agencies.
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders including clients, contractors, agencies, and consultants.
