About The Position

As a Civil Engineer II, you are a Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in designing and developing documents for a range of public and private infrastructure projects, including storm and sanitary sewer, water supply, pump stations, wastewater treatment plans, access management plans, traffic calming programs, roadway and roundabout design. You will work with project managers and other engineers to complete plan design and production for civil engineering design projects, including preparation of design documents and permits for site plans, utility plans and profiles, road design, traffic signal plans, grading plans and right-of-way plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Through planning and aligning and communicating effectively, you maintain a high degree of customer focus and remain results-driven. Using your organizational and interpersonal savvy and collaboration skills, you work well within a multi-disciplinary project team, providing technical design expertise and assistance during the various phases of projects.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Strong background in designing and developing documents for a range of public and private infrastructure projects, including storm and sanitary sewer, water supply, pump stations, wastewater treatment plans, access management plans, traffic calming programs, roadway and roundabout design.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Organizational and interpersonal savvy and collaboration skills.
  • Technical design expertise and assistance during the various phases of projects.
  • Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of customer focus and remain results-driven.
  • Ability to seal documents when applicable.
  • Ability to prepare calculations and analyses for stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer, water supply and distribution, roadways and traffic signal design.
  • Ability to perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommending and documenting design modifications and coordinating with the design team.
  • Ability to prepare Construction Permitting documents.
  • Ability to perform field inspection services for conformance to plans and specifications and preparation of reports as a follow up.
  • Ability to attend public meetings when required.
  • Ability to consult with regulatory agencies when necessary.
  • Ability to provide design analysis, modeling, critical thinking and technical writing consistent with Progressive’s standards as needed to support projects and deliverables.
  • Ability to advocate and follow Progressive’s policies.
  • Ability to use design software/technology, including Revit, AutoCAD 3D, HEC RAS, EPANET, MicroStation and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes.
  • Ability to act as an ambassador for company-wide values and ethical standards of practice.
  • Ability to attend and actively participate in team meetings and activities including ‘Lessons Learned’ sessions.
  • Ability to produce contract documents and design analysis that is efficient and consistent with the scope of work, schedule, and fee allotted to complete the work.

  • Ability to own the project profit goals and assist the team in budgeting and time management.
  • Ability to review, monitor, and update project financial reports in a timely manner, managing report formats and information.

Responsibilities
