Parsons is now hiring a Civil Engineer II for our expanding portfolio of federal projects. This role focuses primarily on cost effective production of civil design deliverables including drawings, calculations, and specifications that comply with applicable codes and standards and contract requirements. In this position you will support a broad mix of US government projects across multiple Departments and Agencies. Parsons extensive experience in design and construction, combined with your civil engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance. You will work with design managers, architects, engineers, project managers, and construction managers to provide schedule, cost, budget, and risk expertise to strengthen delivering quality design on time and within budget. Hiring for this requisition is contingent upon Parsons successfully winning a pending contract award.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and typically 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Autodesk Civil3D and other PC software packages typically associated with civil engineering is required.
  • Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.
  • Experience in Civil Infrastructure on US Government projects to include, site design, roads, site grading and drainage, utilities, and stormwater design.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and accurately completes a variety of civil engineering assignments such as preparation of 3D models and drawings in Autodesk Civil3D, specifications via SpecsIntact, calculations and other design deliverables suitable for procurement and construction purposes under the direction of a Lead Civil Engineer.
  • Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings and 3D civil models.
  • Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Interfaces with other Engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated design products and with other departments to support procurement and construction activities.
  • Prepares detailed requisitions for construction services, equipment and materials.
  • Prepares engineering responses to Requests for Information and may work directly with construction teams to resolve issues and/or revise design products during construction.
  • Provides technical guidance to CAD Drafters and 3D Model Designers working on the same project.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
