This position designs and prepares plans and construction contract documents for MOA street, drainage, site, and water quality projects, utilizing AutoCAD and recognized design criteria. Work includes scoping; planning; design; and preparation of construction documents (including drawings specifications, bid proposals, and detailed estimates of probable construction costs) for new or upgraded MOA street, trail, drainage, site, and water quality improvements or projects. Position responsibility includes detailed research of existing conditions, site analysis, design study, public process, in addition to the detailed design and preparation of construction documents including placing a professional engineering stamp on reports and final construction documents. Oversees and coordinates all aspects of design, such as survey, soils, public information, permitting, traffic, lighting, impacts to utilities, hydraulic calculations, right-of-way and easement requirements, and assistance with acquisition, cost estimating, bidding, liaison during construction, and resolving project impacts on adjacent properties. Performs soil mechanics analysis, hydrology studies, hydraulics studies, materials analysis, implement applicable regulations and guidelines, and incorporate life/safety solutions including, but not limited to, evaluation of sight distances on streets, sight triangles, and ADA design guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned.
