In addition, Michael Baker International is a recognized leader in the practical aspects of operating and maintaining a safe and efficient transportation infrastructure What We're Looking For: You’ll be hands‑on with a variety of public works and transportation projects throughout Southern California, including roadway and intersection improvements, ADA and accessibility upgrades, active transportation (bike and pedestrian), signing & striping, traffic signals, street lighting, and other local agency improvement projects. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy technical design work, collaboration, and growing into greater responsibility. Prepare preliminary and final engineering plans using AutoCAD (Civil 3D exposure a plus) Develop plan and specification packages from design criteria, sketches, and detailed drawings Work closely with project managers, engineers, and design technicians to support coordinated designs Apply engineering standards, technical manuals, and best practices to meet client expectations Review shop drawings for accuracy and compliance Assist with project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and proposals Gain exposure to task management responsibilities on select projects Continue building your skills through training, mentorship, and professional development Please note this is NOT a remote role and will require in office time up to 3 days per week in Carlsbad, CA
