Civil Engineer, EIT – Residential Land Development
About The Position
As a Civil Engineer, EIT at Atwell, your role will be dynamic and multifaceted, including the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in residential, commercial, and/or industrial land development! This role involves drafting preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, analyzing project survey data to assess existing site conditions, and preparing various reports such as hydrology/hydraulic studies, due diligence reports, and cost estimates. You will also provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates, and utilize engineering software like AutoCAD Civil 3D. Effective communication and collaboration with staff members are essential for seamless project coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 2+ years of experience
- EIT certification
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Nice To Haves
- Experience with WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD
Responsibilities
- Drafting preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Analyzing project survey data to assess existing site conditions, considering legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.
- Preparing hydrology/hydraulic studies, due diligence/site analysis reports, engineer's opinion of probable costs, project schedules, utility computations, detention/retention computations, storm sewer reports, local and state permit applications, stormwater reports, soils reports, earthwork volume calculations, StormCAD reports, WaterCAD reports, and preliminary grading.
- Providing construction-related services, such as permit applications, cut sheets, and quantity estimates.
- Organizing site plans, construction plans, and construction documents under the guidance of Senior staff.
- Utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages to complete assignments efficiently.
- Collaborating with current staff members using strong written and verbal communication skills.
