About The Position

Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for a Project Manager to join their Team in the San Jose, CA office. This role is responsible for managing all phases of project execution, including project organization, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting. The Project Manager will lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams, ensuring company quality standards and driving customer value. They will oversee pursuits, designate appropriate resources, define client needs, address client concerns, and manage engineering resources within budget. Building relationships with clients and stakeholders, communicating effectively, and developing comprehensive project scopes, timelines, and budgets are key aspects of this role. The Project Manager will also conduct site analysis, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews, communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and government agencies, identify cost-saving alternatives, monitor expenses, and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Utilizing platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM for progress tracking and visualization is expected. Maintaining records of contracts, change orders, and compliance documents is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience
  • 4+ years project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • 1 - 2 years supervisory/management experience
  • Degree in Construction Management or similar
  • Certifications or registrations as mandated by profession.
  • Must complete the project manager qualification card as part of PMQS.
  • For new hires being brought into a PM position, the PM will be given Provisional status with up to one year to complete PMQS.
  • Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site analysis, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews.
  • Communicate with clients (imperative), architects, engineers, and government agencies early.
  • Identify cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality with monitoring expenses to avoid overruns.
  • Identify key tasks that impact project completion and allow flexibility for unexpected delays.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations and update owner accordingly.
  • Use platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud to help track progress with owner.
  • Maintain records of contracts, change orders, and compliance documents.
  • When possible, use BIM (Building Information Modeling) to improve project visualization and reduces errors.
