Gain practical experience in civil engineering with our team as a Civil Engineer Co-op. In this role, you'll work alongside early career and experienced engineers to gain an understanding of civil infrastructure design and consulting. You'll gain hands-on experience while developing technical skills and problem-solving abilities that will create a foundation for your career.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate student in good academic standing pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Surveying or Mapping or related field from an ABET-accredited program and completion of one year coursework required
• Ability to lift manhole covers up to 80lbs
• Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability to learn PDF markup/review tools, such as BlueBeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to learn AutoCAD or Microstation design software packages, direct experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate, learn, and grow
• Availability to work full-time during Summer of 2027
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record; some travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Be a part of the project team and under the supervision of Professional Engineers, performing manhole inspections throughout the City of Canton sewer systems
• Provide knowledge of municipal infrastructure in a real-life application of civil engineering
• Locate manholes using GPS (survey equipment), taking pictures using a tablet, and inspecting for infiltration and cracks
• Assist with field work and office work
