About The Position

We are sourcing candidates for a Civil Designer position in our Rochester, Buffalo, Latham, Elmira, NY or Scranton, PA office designing plans for municipal engineering projects. This role involves working independently and collaboratively on planning, design, and/or research on conventional renewable engineering projects. The Civil Designer will produce drawings using computer-aided drafting systems like AutoCad, Civil 3D, and Revit. They will also evaluate, analyze, interpret, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for renewable engineering projects. The position requires conducting site visits and assisting with construction observation and data collection. Additionally, the Civil Designer will support senior engineers in evaluating design alternatives and solving technical challenges, collaborate with other divisions and departments, and engage in design training and mentoring activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 2- 4 years of experience in drafting and design for engineering plans and documents.
  • Understand, analyze, and process complex technical information and materials.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and curiosity about renewable engineering projects.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of drafting methods and procedures using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit (preferred, not required).
