About The Position

Stantec Consulting Services Inc. is seeking a Civil Designer for multiple positions in Coral Gables, FL. This role involves assisting with the production of design plans and engineering specifications for water resources infrastructure projects. The Civil Designer will support projects related to watermain design, storm water management, and water and wastewater treatment facility design. Key responsibilities include performing design tasks, writing specifications and technical reports, conducting hydraulic and hydrologic analyses and modeling, coordinating with product vendors for appropriate product selection, and collaborating with CAD technicians and project managers to meet submittal deadlines. The position also requires participation in construction inspections, site visits, and in-person design meetings to ensure projects are constructed according to plans and specifications. The standard work week is 40 hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Individuals in this position may be paid a discretionary bonus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience.
  • Employer will accept a three or four-year Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 years of experience with Water and wastewater infrastructure design.
  • 2 years of experience with AutoCAD, including Civil 3D.
  • 2 years of experience Performing structural and civil analysis for civil and conveyance projects.
  • 2 years of experience Performing structural calculations to ensure drainage structures are designed to overcome buoyancy forces.
  • 2 years of experience Conducting construction site inspections for infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with production of design plans and engineering specifications for water resources infrastructure projects.

  • Coordinate with product vendors to ensure proper products are selected for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with CAD technicians and project managers to ensure submittals meet deadlines.
  • Participate in construction inspections, site visits and in-person design meetings to ensure project is constructed per plans and specifications.
