The firm is expanding its team and seeking organized, disciplined, self-motivated, proactive, and team-driven individuals to join their Senior Project Manager in Markham. This is a full-time position focused on professional performance and strong project outcomes. Urbantech is looking for a Civil Designer with experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for land development projects, offering a great opportunity for career advancement within their Design Team, tackling technical challenges on various projects.

Requirements

  • Completion of a college diploma or accredited university degree, with a focus on drafting / municipal engineering using either AutoCAD / AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • C.E.T. and/or P.Eng. designation or eligibility for future designation upon completion of satisfactory work experience
  • 1-4 years of drafting & design experience working in 2D & 3D on municipal projects including roads, utilities, and subdivisions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software including Excel, Teams, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply design standards and guidelines
  • Ability to work well within a dynamic team of engineers and technologists as well as working under limited supervision
  • Proficiency with reading, analyzing, checking engineering drawings
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction and correspondence with design team and clients
  • Eager to learn and take on new challenges, with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GIS, surveying, and the land development process is an asset
  • Stormwater management design experience including hydraulic and hydrologic modelling is a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Assistance to Senior Project Manager in the performance of duties
  • Prepare grading designs for site plans and subdivisions
  • Prepare storm, sanitary and water servicing designs, including supporting design calculations
  • Prepare erosion and sediment control and construction staging designs
  • Technical report writing including preparation of design briefs, functional servicing, and stormwater management reports
  • Production of drawings for a variety of land development projects, including: grading, drainage, and site servicing; natural channels, culverts, and flood plain mapping; stormwater management and low-impact design facilities; plan and profiles and sections; erosion and sediment control and construction staging plans; site utilities including utility coordination; general drawing notes and specifications; other duties as needed
  • Coordinate and prepare engineering submissions and permit applications
  • Preparation of earthworks analysis / 3D surface comparison
