Join the V3 Team and take your career to the next level! We are looking for a Civil Designer III to support our Floodplain and Stormwater Management Group in our Woodridge, IL office. Experience in site civil engineering, with an interest in water resource design, is desired. Qualified candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills as the positions include interaction with both internal team members and external clients. In addition, candidates must be able to work both independently and, in a team, based environment and possess the ability to manage several major activities at once. Requirements

  • Degreed Civil Engineer with 3 - 5 years of related experience in Water Resources.
  • Experience with CADD and GIS required; MicroStation preferred.
  • EIT or ability to earn EIT is required.
  • Understanding of civil engineering technical design related to water resources, transportation, structural, or site development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with modeling/ design tools such as HEC-RAS, TR-20, and XPSWMM are preferred but not required.
  • CFM or ability to earn CFM status is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of federal, state, and local stormwater and floodplain permitting requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Water resources and storm water analysis modeling & design.
  • Preparing floodplain/floodway calculations and design.
  • Participating in watershed, environmental, and wetland projects for private and public sector clients.
  • Preparing reports, design plan sets, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Monitoring projects to ensure needed regulatory compliance, including the possibility of construction site inspections for compliance with erosion and sediment control regulations.
  • Assisting in water resources permitting.
