About The Position

Under the supervision of the Capital Works Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining contracted assets (Bridges, culverts, roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, tunnels, vegetation, etc.) per standards and conditions specified in the contract. We offer competitive pay and other seasonal benefits. The pay range for this position is $25–$26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Skill in the operation of company/rental tools and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to perform basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Highly developed sense of safety awareness and perceptive ability.
  • Ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers/subcontractors, understand and follow verbal and written safety instructions.
  • Ability to think clearly and focus on your safety in your immediate surroundings, while using tools and equipment, while driving or operating equipment.
  • You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job.
  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • Minium DZ driver’s license required with a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in bridge/road construction and maintenance (outdoor work -Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Removal of snow and ice by using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.
  • Clean, Maintain and repair: bridges, culverts, shoulders, signs, guiderail and other highway inventory.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment as required: for surface and right-of-way maintenance and repair of bridges, culverts, shoulders, etc.
  • Traffic control setup and removal in accordance with OTM Book 7
  • Transport crew and equipment to work sites
  • Be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Contract Manager.
