Requirements

  • Experience in Form Carpentry, Rodbusting, Concrete finishing and related construction experience.
  • Construction Experience: 2 years (Required)
  • TWIC
  • DISA

Responsibilities

  • Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
  • Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the various stages of the concrete throughout the entire process.
  • Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
  • Produce various final finishes on concrete surfaces based of job specific requirements, using rough/fine brooms or special groove rakes.
  • Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
  • Clean chipped area, using wire brush, feel and observe surface to determine if it is rough or uneven.
  • Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete on forms.
  • Apply sealing compounds to cure surfaces on concrete.
  • Operate power vibrator.
  • Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.
  • Build and layout forms as required according to specifications.
  • Saws lumber to blueprint dimensions, using handsaw or power saw, and nail lumber together to make forms.
  • Erect built-in-place forms or assemblies and installs prefabricated forms on construction site according to blueprint specifications.
  • Insert spreaders and tie rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions.
  • Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects, using nails, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, and timbers.
  • Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms, using fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.
  • Space and fasten together rods in forms according to instructions on tablet.
  • Cut and fit wire mesh or fabric, using hooked rods, and position fabric or mesh in concrete to reinforce concrete.
  • Perform general laborer duties as needed.
