About The Position

Mortenson is seeking a Civil Craft Operator for the Meitner Wind project. The Operator operates equipment as directed and specified while following Mortenson safety policies and procedures. The role includes operating and observing equipment, performing routine maintenance, identifying malfunctions, following work plans and pre-task cards, and maintaining safe, orderly work areas. The position description notes that duties and responsibilities may change without notice and is not intended to be comprehensive. Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 pounds must be done with assistance from another team member or equipment.

Requirements

• Equipment certifications as required.
• At least one year of related experience.
• A current driver’s license of the proper classification and any endorsements required by law.
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts.
• Ability to operate equipment using levers, gears, pedals, and steering wheels; knowledge of equipment and its uses; and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently, listen actively, communicate effectively, and remain open to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; loads over 50 pounds require assistance from another team member or equipment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blades, dozers, loaders, scrapers, forklifts/telehandlers, cranes, bobcats/skid-steers, boom lifts/aerial lifts, rollers, backhoes, and track cranes.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clear and orderly housekeeping.
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
