About The Position

Schutte Excavating is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent to lead design-build concrete, water, storm sewer, and sanitary line projects ranging from $500K to $5M. The role involves overseeing all aspects of these projects, including earthwork and carpentry, while fostering a safe and enjoyable work environment and delivering exceptional project results. Requirements

Familiarity with the ins and outs of concrete, water, storm sewer, and sanitary line projects.
Years of experience planning and leading these types of projects.
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Experience with material takeoffs and quantities.
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings.
Ability to pass a drug screen.
Possession of a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of $500K - $5M design-build concrete, water, storm sewer, and sanitary line projects including earthwork and carpentry.
Foster a safe and enjoyable work environment while delivering exceptional project results.
Cultivate a safe and engaged team by ensuring adherence to safety protocols and prioritizing the well-being of employees.
Drive operational efficiencies that foster growth opportunities by implementing strategies that increase workload capacity and enable the handling of larger projects.
Optimize project coordination and management through material quantity takeoffs and schedules for people, projects, subcontractors, material deliveries, and equipment.
Ensure overall project quality and ground-level craftsmanship.
Foster strong partnerships and stakeholder relations with general contractors, vendors, clients, architects, employees, and municipal representatives.
Facilitate transparent communication through detailed daily logs and applicable change orders.
