About The Position

The Civil Construction Manager directs all sitework and civil scope on a mission-critical data center project, including mass grading, storm and sanitary utilities, underground electrical and fiber duct banks, foundations, and exterior concrete and paving. This role manages civil subcontractors from mobilization through final grading and landscape completion, coordinates directly with the civil engineer of record and geotechnical engineer on field conditions, and maintains the civil fragnet of the master schedule so that pad and foundation turnover dates support the vertical construction sequence. This is a field-based position supporting construction projects in North Louisiana, Virginia, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Project assignments and reporting locations will vary based on operational needs. Travel and/or temporary relocation will be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of civil construction management experience, including at least 3 years on large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
  • Working knowledge of mass grading, underground utility installation, and geotechnical reporting.
  • Experience reading and marking up civil and structural drawings.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software, and Bluebeam or similar markup software.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience on a data center, semiconductor, or other mission-critical construction project.
  • Experience with SWPPP administration and erosion control compliance.
  • Familiarity with duct bank and underground electrical/fiber installation specific to data center campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil subcontractors, including earthwork, underground utility, concrete, and paving trades, from bid buyout through final completion.
  • Track mass grading, cut/fill balance, and compaction testing against the geotechnical report and civil drawings.
  • Coordinate underground utility installation, including storm drain, sanitary sewer, domestic water, fire water, and electrical/fiber duct banks, with the civil engineer of record and utility companies.
  • Maintain the SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) and manage erosion control inspections with the environmental compliance team.
  • Review civil and structural drawings, shop drawings, and submittts for foundations, retention/detention ponds, and site retaining walls.
  • Coordinate foundation and slab-on-grade turnover dates with the construction manager and superintendent to protect the vertical trade schedule.
  • Track civil RFIs, submittals, and change orders, and maintain accurate as-built records for underground utilities.
  • Conduct weekly civil progress meetings with subcontractors and report progress against the civil fragnet of the master schedule.
