Woods Hole Group solves complex environmental engineering problems worldwide with a focus on serving clients along the coast, in the ocean, and in wetland and terrestrial environments. Relying on service, excellence and leadership, Woods Hole Group employs experienced engineers, scientists, and technicians. A large focus of our work is characterizing the environment, the natural processes at work, and impacts made by non-natural interventions. We develop and apply tools to our coastal engineering, shore protection, dredging, permitting, and computer modeling projects to assess these processes and how they may evolve, so that we can better inform our clients on the solutions needed to create a sustainable environment that is resilient in an everchanging climate. We share in the vision of a sustainable planet for our future, and this commitment and passion can be seen in our work. The Woods Hole Group is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead our survey and drafting efforts on our Coastal Engineering Team in our Bourne, Massachusetts office. Our team has a diverse portfolio of complex and innovative coastal and marine projects, and this position will directly support the design and implementation of those projects. While the primary role for the Civil Engineer will be to lead survey, design, and drafting, our teams are highly collaborative and our engineers often contribute to field data collection, modeling, planning, permitting, and construction. Typical projects include coastal resilience, coastal structures, nature-based solutions, flood risk mapping, sediment management/dredging, habitat restoration, tidal crossings/hydraulics, and coastal resilience planning. The candidate must have the ability to work in a team setting and be open to learning on the job.
