About The Position

The Entry-level Civil and Water Resources Engineer role is a position within Trihydro’s Infrastructure and Natural Resources Business Unit. As a team member, you will assist with developing solutions for municipalities, state agencies, conservation and irrigation districts, and private clients, addressing civil infrastructure and water resource needs and improvements. Working within multidisciplinary project teams, you will assist in improving infrastructure systems, including water supply, sanitary sewer, transportation, and stormwater systems while supporting the assessment and development of water resources to meet agricultural, municipal, and industrial demands, as well as environmental objectives. This full-time position requires approximately 40-45 hours per week. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Requirements

• Recent graduate, new to civil engineering (minimal to no engineering design experience)
• Experience with and/or interest in civil infrastructure, water and wastewater systems, transportation, and water resources
• Appreciation for a work environment that prioritizes people, including mentoring and career growth opportunities
• Value teamwork to achieve project goals
• Engineer-in-training (E.I.T. or F.E.) or plans to obtain E.I.T. or F.E. within 6 months
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills

• Willingness to travel to client locations and other Trihydro offices
• Understanding of the importance of time management
• Excellent organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D or related CADD programs
• Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SewerGems, GIS or other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software

Responsibilities

• Performing technical research and design calculations
• Learning design and modeling software, drafting figures, and preparing construction plan sets
• Performing assigned design tasks, quantity calculations, and construction cost estimates
• Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
• Researching construction materials and contacting/coordinating with construction material suppliers
• Preparing technical memorandums, design reports, and permitting applications
• Developing cost estimates
• Conducting field data collection, performing site inspections and inventories, and performing construction observation, monitoring and reporting
