About The Position

Phasor Engineering Inc. is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting company with multiple offices located across Canada. Our expertise encompasses industrial, power generation, power distribution and utility projects. Our services include feasibility studies, detailed engineering design, supervision of construction and commissioning, and project management. Phasor Engineering currently has an opening for a Civil/Structural Drafter/Designer for either its Burnaby BC or Calgary AB offices. This is a staff position, and we offer excellent benefits and a competitive salary package.

Requirements

Core competency's in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
Familiar with Survey and Geospatial Data, topographic data, DEMs and GIS information.
Additional competency's in AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
Experience with Steel, concrete and wood materials.
Technology Degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized institution.
Minimum 4 years of experience in Civil/Structural Roles.
Proficient in drafting in with minimal supervision.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD's features, specifically working with model and paper space, managing xrefs and creating viewports to scale.
Ability to read Civil, Structural and Electrical drawings.
Ability to switch between metric and imperial scales.
High attention to detail, highly organized, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Excellent English communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Canadian electrical utilities (ATCO, Altalink, BC Hydro etc.) is an asset.
Experience with multiple Civil/Structural software packages in Autodesk and/or Bentley.
Knowledge of Raster editing Structural steel detailing/design experience.
Registration and Designation with ASTTBC and/or ASET.

Responsibilities

Develop civil drawings, including plans, sections, details and general notes.
Develop civil site preparations, grading, drainage systems, access roads and fence drawings.
Create accurate base maps and terrain models.
Coordinate with the drafting and engineering team and other discipline members to ensure.
Develop structural drawings, including structure plans, sections, details and general notes.
Develop foundation layout plans, sections, details and general notes.
