About The Position
The purpose of this classification is to perform unskilled to semi-skilled and manual labor work in the maintenance of the city park. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and safety of park facilities and grounds.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Responsibilities
- Performs general laboring tasks in the City Park/Golf Course.
- Participates in cleaning equipment, preventive maintenance, and makes minor repairs to equipment.
- Operates a variety of trucks and equipment to perform tasks.
- Inspects equipment and assigned work area for safety hazards.
- Mows grass at parks; weed-eating and edging, measures, cuts and lays sod; mulches lawns; blows leaves; plants trees; trims trees; seeds; lays straw; removes trees and debris.
- Picks up and disposes of litter; removes and replaces trash receptacles.
- Shovels snow.
- Pressure washes park facilities and equipment; paints as needed.
- Assists with special events as needed.
- May schedule use of the facility.
- Performs other related duties as required.
