About The Position

Resident Advisor (RA) is seeking a City Manager for Perth, Australia, to be an integral part of RA’s Global Content Network (GCN). This role serves as RA’s local connection to Perth, supporting the electronic music community by maintaining accurate local content, enriching listings for events, artists, venues, and promoters, and contributing editorial ideas. The goal is to ensure that people in Perth can rely on RA to discover parties and the people behind them. The City Manager will act as RA’s eyes and ears on the ground, influencing the platform's representation of the local scene, including coverage, accuracy, and the surfacing of stories and communities. The role is city-first, meaning the focus is tailored to Perth's specific needs and scene, with agreed-upon outcomes and scope reviewed every six months.

Requirements

  • Embedded within the local scene with a wide existing network.
  • Outgoing personality who builds networks quickly.
  • Track record of effective communication, both personal and digital.
  • Passion and understanding of electronic music culture is fundamental.
  • Willingness to live RA’s values.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in (add local language) is a requirement for this specific role.

Responsibilities

  • Keep RA accurate in Perth by ensuring event listings, venue pages, and artist pages reflect the current city landscape.
  • Bring strong editorial instincts by pitching relevant local parties, people, and stories, and feeding into RA formats like RA Picks, Local News, This Week’s New Music, Mix Of the Day, and Socials channels.
  • Stay close to the scene by being a visible, trusted point of contact in the local community, sharing context to help RA understand changes, and maintaining regular communication with your manager and the wider network.
  • Spot commercial opportunities by identifying potential ticketing partnerships and handing over introductions to the Revenue team.
  • Support promoters and venues in getting started with RA tools and maintain an agreed set of priority relationships.
  • Assist with outreach and introductions where needed, ensuring clear handover and follow-up.
  • Undertake optional extra work if agreed separately, such as supporting nearby cities, translations, news writing, or local event support.
