About The Position

Base is a platform for in-real-life social connection and community. Our Members are accomplished people who have built careers, families, and reputations. They come to Base for what their calendars are missing: regular, in-person time with peers they actually want to know. The gathering is the product. The City Host is the person who makes the gathering work.

Requirements

Charismatic personality with the ability to warm up to people quickly.
Comfortable around accomplished adults and able to be a peer, not just a performer.
A lover of your city, with knowledge of its culture, venues, and neighborhoods.
Confident in leading a group of 20 to 60 people.
Reliable and able to show up every time, prepared and on standard.
Detail-oriented and able to notice things others miss.
Genuinely curious about people, remembering names, stories, and attendance history.
Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
Smartphone with reliable data.
Must be 18 or older and eligible to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

Background in hospitality, fine dining, theater, private clubs, event production, weddings, or restaurants.
Experience running real rooms for discerning people where they returned.

Responsibilities

Own the room from open to close.
Set the space before anyone arrives, including lighting, music, place cards, and flow.
Welcome Members at the door, knowing who is coming and using their name.
Work the room, open the event, manage energy, handle transitions, and close with intention.
Run the full range of events, including experiences, socials, orientations, dinners, and seasonal events.
Adapt the format of events while maintaining a high standard.
Address and fix any issues in the venue, such as a crooked chair or dim corner, before they are noticed.
Tear down the event space and leave the venue better than it was found.
